Kai Robinson
Polysoma - Counsellor, Sex Therapist
Kai (he/him) is a counsellor, sex therapist, and psychotherapist, and the person behind Polysoma. His practice holds space for sex therapy, sexual trauma, general trauma, and everyday counselling concerns — for people bringing their whole selves, including the parts they’ve never said out loud. Kai specialises in the intersection of trauma and sexual concerns, and his practice is inclusive and affirming of all backgrounds.
Kai created Polysoma for people who’ve carried shame, confusion, or pain in silence, searching for a practitioner who could genuinely hold what they needed to bring. His work reflects the full complexity of human sexuality — from sexual wellness and intimacy, to sexual trauma and its impacts.
Kai brings a sex-positive, trauma-informed, non-judgemental approach, alongside specialist training in recognising and responding to sexual violence and forensic sexology. As he often says to clients, “we can go down many different rabbit holes, and along the way put pieces of the puzzle together.”
Kai holds a Master of Counselling, Graduate Certificate in Sexology, and Bachelor of Clinical Practice, and is completing a Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) in Psychosexual Therapy. He’s registered with the Australian Counselling Association and a member of the Society of Australian Sexologists.
Outside the therapy room, Kai’s a coffee connoisseur who finds joy in the natural world, appreciates art with layers and multiple perspectives, and enjoys quiet time with his Italian Greyhound Chester and Chester’s brother Max, a Labrador.
