Rebecca Sharkey
MindScope
Rebecca Sharkey is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead at MindScope who believes that understanding yourself shouldn't feel like trying to solve a mystery without the clues. With a Master of Clinical Psychology, a Master of Autism and Neurodivergence Studies, and a Diploma of Auslan, Rebecca is passionate about helping people make sense of their experiences, celebrate their strengths, and find supports that genuinely work for them.
Rebecca works with children, adolescents, and adults, with particular interests in autism, ADHD, neurodiversity-affirming care, trauma, disability, Deaf and Hard of Hearing mental health, and LGBTQIA+ affirming practice. She is known for creating a safe, welcoming space where clients can show up exactly as they are—no masking, no judgement, and no need to have it all figured out.
At the heart of Rebecca's work is a simple belief: every person deserves to feel understood, respected, and empowered to live a life that feels meaningful to them. She loves collaborating with clients, families, schools, workplaces, and support networks to help people better understand themselves and thrive on their own terms.
When she's not in the therapy room, you'll likely find Rebecca swimming laps, squeezing in a gym session, walking her pug Terry, or wandering around with a cup of tea and a podcast in her ears. She loves learning new things, having a laugh, and connecting with people—whether that's in English or Auslan.
Her personal mottoes? "Nothing about us without us," "What's the why behind the behaviour?" and "Be curious, not judgmental." They guide both her work and her life, reminding her that understanding always starts with curiosity.
